Merry Christmas and happy new year! More than 50 Christmas veg boxes out, new donkeys and RTE’s Ear to the Ground

My, what a week that has been! The farm's first appearance on the tele and more than 50 veg boxes delivered in the last couple of days!

Meet our new Donkeys!

Thank you to Danny, Sandra and Elsa at the Donegal Donkey Sanctuary for giving us the opportunity to adopt two donkeys, and to be featured on RTE One’s Ear to the Ground this Christmas week.

It was a great day bringing family and volunteers together, meeting Darragh and all the TV crew, and taking a step back to talk about why we do what we do.

And most importantly it has been great to welcome the donkeys to south Donegal. Right now they are happily grazing with the sheep. If you are able to adopt some donkeys, get in contact with Danny.

More than 50 Christmas veg boxes delivered - plus bread, wreaths, microgreens and pumpkins

Thank you to everyone that has helped us get more than 50 veg boxes out in the last couple of days, what as rush that was in the end, but we did it! A special thanks must go to the volunteers - Aurelia, Ines, Catherine, Michael #1, Laura, Robin, Oliver and Michael Michael #2, who all really helped pull out all the stops, as well as all the other volunteers who helped sow and tend to the vegetables as they grew.

On Thursday we delivered 13 sponsored veg boxes to the folks and families that the Bluestack Special Needs Foundation supports. Thank you to all the people that sponsored these, it was an emotional moment seeing the boxes all there, and thinking this was just an idea last year. Thank you!

We’d also like to thank the collection point hosts - Simple Simon’s in Donegal Town, Breslin’s Petrol Station in Killybegs, Corby Pantry and Ronan’s auntie in Ardara - for helping us this year, you’ve been just ace.

Also thank you to the growers and suppliers we work with - Thomas from the Sustainable Landuse Company in Glenties for his bread and meat, Ines from Anois Handcraft for her wreaths and much much more, Jaime of The Grow House for the microgreens and Kevin in Cliffoney for the pumpkins, as well as the people at Beechlawn Organic Farm and Glasrai Organic Farm.

Plus - a massive thank you to all our customers who’ve supported us, for the Christmas box and during the year. Thank you! Happy Christmas all, have a great time, and see you in the New Year! x
