Upcoming volunteer days - Saturdays 18 May, 25 May, 1 & 8 June. Plus plants to giveaway and baby lambs!
Well that’s been a curveball of a Spring. We are somewhat behind schedule compared to last year, but we have a plan and can do it, with a little bit of help!
So - over the next few weeks, we are going to be doing volunteer events on Saturdays. Come join us and learn as we expand the garden, creating new no dig beds for the seedlings in the tunnel so that we can produce some amazing community veg boxes this year. If you can’t make it on a Saturday do get in touch as there will be stuff happening in the week too.
Would be great to see friends old and new. RSVP to Ronan on 0894032153 or shybynaturefarm@gmail.com.
Tomatoes, cucumbers and courgettes to give away
Plus we’ve got some tomato (cherry, salad and plum), cucumber and courgette plants to give away, let us know if you’d like some!
What’s been happening?
All was going very well, even with the wet weather, a couple of thousand trees planted and prep for this year’s veg box all underway, until a very good friend of the farm became ill and needed help.
Thanks to our amazing volunteers, the salad box deliveries to the restaurants continued, seeds got sown, and much of the prep for the veg boxes continued.
Then lambing came! Am very happy we now have five new Galway lambs at the farm. So many learnings, a special thanks to neighbours - one in particular - and the vet for all help. And more to come yet!
