2026 organic veg box sign-up is now open 🌱
Summer is finally arriving at Shy By Nature Farm and we’re getting ready for the first certified organic veg boxes of 2026 going out across Donegal on Friday 19 June.
We’ve also added two new tunnels (bringing us up to four!), Soil and Soul Tuesdays are really taking off alongside our Saturday Volunteer Days, and we’ve just become part of the Donegal Garden Trail.
If you’d like to join for this season, you can sign up at: https://vegbox.shybynaturefarm.ie/
Our veg boxes come in three sizes:
Large - 10-12 portions, generally feeding 2-4 people
(NB. We’ve increased the large box to 12 portions to make it work better for bigger households.)
Weekly and fortnightly options are available.
Our sliding scale pricing continues this year too. The idea is simple: people contribute what they realistically can, helping us widen access to healthy regenerative organic veg across south Donegal while keeping the farm financially sustainable.
Growing local food in Donegal
Since starting in 2023, together we’ve now grown and delivered more than 2,000 veg boxes — including more than 220 sponsored boxes for families supported by the Bluestack Special Needs Foundation.
We’re also delighted to be supplying a growing number of local cafés, restaurants and shops this year, including:
Number 9 Market Square (Letterkenny)
Quay West (Donegal Town)
Simple Simons (Donegal Town)
The Old Stone (Donegal Town)
Andersons Boathouse (Killybegs)
The Corby Pantry (Ardara)
Peter Campbell Catering (Mountcharles)
It’s lovely to see more local food staying local.
Soil and Soul + Volunteer Days
Our Soil and Soul event has really taken off, with lots of great folks joining us on Tuesdays between 11am and 1pm for gentle gardening followed by tea, coffee, cakes, scones, and some veg for the road.
There are jobs for people who can’t bend down as well as for those who can — all abilities very welcome. If you’d like to join, WhatsApp Catherine on +353 87 777 1621.
Saturday Volunteer Days are our bigger project days — starting at 10am with a tasty lunch from the garden.
There’s always something happening, whatever the weather.
Donegal Garden Trail
Last but not least, we’re are absolutely thrilled to also have become one of the newest members of the Donegal Garden Trail and honoured to be listed alongside some of the most beautiful gardens in Donegal.
